Edit a guide

Rename steps, add notes, reorder, insert and delete steps, and find text in your guides.

Two places to edit

Open a guide in the panel for quick changes, or click Edit for the full page, with every step and its screenshot side by side.

Steps

  • Click a step title to rename it, and add a description under it.
  • Drag a step to reorder it, or use Move up and Move down in its menu.
  • Add a step at the end, or between two steps with Add a step here.
  • Delete a step from its menu. Select lets you pick several steps and delete them at once.

Sections, tips and warnings

The + between two steps (or above the first) also adds a Section title, which groups the steps under it, and Tip or Warning boxes for what a reader must know. They have no number and no screenshot, show in the shared link and in every export, and Guide me shows them without looking for anything on the page.

Screenshots

Zoom in on the click to see the detail, or show the whole screen. Replace image swaps a screenshot for a file of your own, and Add image gives a text step its picture.

Images to check

A screenshot taken while the page was still changing is flagged: check that it shows the right screen, then click Looks right.

Search guides, at the top of the list, looks through guide titles, descriptions, and the titles and notes of every step.
