Capture your first guide
Start a capture, click through a task, and get a guide with a screenshot for every step.
Before you start
Open the website where the task happens. StepKit records on normal web pages; Chrome's own pages (the new tab page, settings, the Web Store) stay closed to every extension.
Start the capture
Click Start capture in the panel. A red dot appears on the page: it shows the capture is on, and it stays visible on every page you record. Click on the page to capture your first step.
Do the task as usual
Every click becomes a step with a screenshot and a title, such as Click "Save". Opening a site adds a Go to step, and pressing Enter in a field becomes a step of its own. What you type is never read.
Clicks inside an embedded frame, such as a payment form, a chat window or an embedded editor, are not captured. Take that step with Capture in the capture bar.
The panel lists the captured steps as you go. Pause stops recording clicks while you get something ready; Resume picks up again.
Finish
Click Finish and your guide opens, ready to edit. Give it a name and, if you like, a short description. If nothing was captured, no guide is saved.
