Automatic blur
Blur passwords, codes, cards, emails, phones and IBANs at capture time, plus your own patterns.
What it does
With automatic blur on, StepKit pixelates sensitive data in each screenshot as it is taken: passwords, codes, card numbers, emails, phone numbers and IBANs. Detection runs on your device. Automatic blur is part of Pro.
Turning it on
Open Settings, then Automatic blur, and switch on Blur sensitive data at capture. During a capture, the Blur button in the capture bar does the same for the guide you are recording.
Your own patterns
Under Also blur, add anything else that should never show, one pattern per line: # stands for a digit, * for letters or digits. For order numbers, ORD-#### is enough.
On the Free plan
The image editor's Blur tool still offers the sensitive fields it finds, for you to add by hand.
Embedded frames
Detection does not see inside an embedded frame, such as a payment form from another site. Blur those parts by hand in the image editor.
In a team
The team owner can enforce automatic blur: every member's captures are blurred and members cannot turn it off.
