Counters

The counter token

{counter} inserts a number that grows by one at every use: first insertion 1, next 2, and so on. Previews never consume a number; only a real insertion draws one.

Named sequences

{counter:invoice} and {counter:ticket} are independent sequences, each counting on its own. Any name up to 30 characters works, and the same name always means the same sequence, whichever snippet uses it.

Zero padding

Add a digit count to pad with zeros: {counter:4} renders 0007, {counter:invoice:4} pads the invoice sequence. The Insert menu configurator composes name and padding for you, preview included.

Local, synced, or team-wide

Free counts locally on this device. With sync, your sequences stay in step across your devices, so an invoice number never repeats between laptop and desktop. On a Business team the team sequences are shared: one numbering for everyone.

Managing sequences

Settings has a Counters card listing every sequence with its current value. Set an exact value to start from a migration number or to reset to zero, or delete a sequence you no longer use; signed in, the server is updated first so every device follows. The counter configurator also shows the next number, with a Manage link that jumps straight to that card.
