Typing a shortcut

Type a snippet's shortcut in any normal text field and it expands into the full content as soon as the shortcut is complete. This works in plain inputs, text areas, rich editors like Gmail, and inside embedded frames.

The suggestion list

Type just the prefix (; by default) and FillKit shows a list of your snippets right under the caret: keep typing to filter, then pick one to insert it. You can turn the bare-prefix list off in Settings.

Shortcuts without a prefix

A shortcut that does not start with the prefix expands only when you press Tab after typing it. That way plain words can be shortcuts too, without ever firing mid-sentence.

Keeping it quiet

Two ways to stop expansion where you do not want it: flip the master switch in Settings to pause it everywhere, or add specific sites to Disabled sites, e.g. while coding or screen sharing.
