First setup

Your first snippet

Open the Snippets tab and press New. Give the snippet a name (say, Signature), a shortcut like ;sig, and the text it should expand into. Save it.

Try it

Click into any text field on any site and type ;sig. The shortcut turns into your full text the moment you finish typing it.

About the prefix

The default prefix is the semicolon: it keeps shortcuts from firing while you write normal words. You can pick a different prefix, or none at all, in Settings. Shortcuts without a prefix expand when you press Tab, so they never fire by accident.
